No Access Drain Connections

NO UP-STEM | MEASURE THROUGH FLANGE INTO WASTE


Place flange spacers from flange kit onto flange to designate height of assembly for the flange to be set above subfloor in order to accept a Schluter shower tray.  Position flange with spacers in hole through subfloor directly over the waste below.

 

Insert a tape measure through the neck of the flange down into the waste line to determine the length of the ABS/PVC stem that will need to be cut.  Reference red lines below.


Cut ABS/PVC stem.  Clean burs and dry fit before spreading mortar for flange and glue for flange connection.  Make adjustment cut if needed.

 

 
 
PLUMBING STEMMED UP THROUGH SUBFLOOR
 
 Stem up from the waste through the sub-floor.  Make sure the hole around the stem is no larger than template included in the flange kit (4.5” to 5” max).
Two cuts will be made with this method of no access connection to the waste
 

Cut the ABS/PVC stem flush with the top of the subfloor using a plunge cut blade on an oscillating multi-tool.  Clean the burs from the stem.  


Place the shower tray on the subfloor first without mortar.  Dry fit the flange by placing it on the flush cut stem.   Measure from the flange down to the white break-outs of the Schluter shower tray.  This will be the measurement of the second cut (should be very close to 3”).  


For the second cut, use an inside pipe cutter with a standard drill. The second cut will be around 3” below the first cut.  Clean the burs from the stem from the second cut.  

 

Dry fit the flange once more to ensure the proper nesting of the flange on the white break-outs before spreading mortar for the tray or cleaning and gluing flange to stem.

 

Spread mortar on subfloor to receive the tray.  Embed the tray in the mortar bed.  Glue flange into mortar bed over center break-out section of tray.  Complete waterproofing with KERDI donut.  Nifty tool made by Ebbe to grab and pull up on inside of the stem while also pushing down on flange until glue sets.

2024 Illustrated Price List Update

Pricelists for each new year will be physically and digitally available each year in March. Price increases (if there will be any) will take affect with the new price book for that release year every April 1st. As of now, I am currently unaware of any price increases. That is not to say there will not be any; I am just not yet informed as to what will be released. Schluter is moving toward a greener initiative by promoting the Schluter APP and the downloaded-able PDF with integrated navigational links (my personal choice). These two options will always be the fastest/earliest to access, and always up to date. In March, a limited/monitored number of physical copies (hard and spiral bound) will automatically be allocated and shipped to each distributor and Schluter Authorized Dealer (ASD). UPDATE: 2024 Price List/Price Increase Information

    The 2024 price lists are here!    Customer notification dates are listed below: February 28th           Distribution Partners March 6th                   Schluter Authorized Dealers March 13th                Dealers and all others   Prices in the new 2024 price books will take affect on April 1st.    Despite ongoing inflation and rising costs, we've limited the price increase to just 2.5% across all products, except DITRA (including DITRA-XL), KERDI waterproofing membrane, and both SCHIENE and JOLLY profiles and accessories in all finishes which will not increase in price.    There will be no changes to the freight program located in the back of the book.   I will update this post with the link to download the digital copies from Schluter's website as soon as they become available.
