KERDI-Line VARIO | Did you know?

VARIO is suitable for commercial. KERDI-LINE-VARIO has a standard 2" NPT threaded outlet and is supplied with 2" PVC and ABS adapters in the flange kit to assist in connecting to the most common types of 2" Drain Waste Vent (DWV) infrastructure. The outlet diameter of the drain flange was designed to meet section 408.4 of the Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC), and is in conformance with the ASME A112.18.2/CSA B125.2 standard. Adhering to the aforementioned code and standard allowed for the certification of KERDI-LINE-VARIO with ICC-ES (PMG-1204) and IAPMO (File 4591) certifying bodies.


VARIO meets the minimum requirements of the EPA standard 2.5 GPM flow rate, and actually exceeds this value by nearly 2x before the water level exceeds 1/4" depth at a distance of 12" from the drain. After this point, KERDI-LINE-VARIO will continue to drain, but due to the way it manages the water, the depth will be greater than 1/4" at a distance of 12" from the grate.

VARIO is also great for use in intermediate installations. The only installation that is not recommended is entry placement in curbless shower application due to the way water is managed. These applications are best suited using KERDI-Line with a tileable grate due to the width and depth of the channel body, and the ability of the tileable grate by design to reach the complete length of the shower entry.

KERDI-LINE and KERDI-LINE-VARIO share the same 2" outlet size. The difference in perceived performance comes from the size of the channel in which the water is managed just before draining through the outlet. KERDI-LINE manages its water flow inside the deeper, wider channel, whereas KERDI-LINE-VARIO manages more water on the shower surface due to its narrow and low-profile channel design.

As such, Schluter has implemented a process to protect the installer, end user and ourselves by evaluating exterior requests on a case by case basis and thus eliminating high risk jobs. Exterior applications need time to study, plan, specify, estimate and install. 2024 Illustrated Price List Update

Pricelists for each new year will be physically and digitally available each year in March. Price increases (if there will be any) will take affect with the new price book for that release year every April 1st. As of now, I am currently unaware of any price increases. That is not to say there will not be any; I am just not yet informed as to what will be released. Schluter is moving toward a greener initiative by promoting the Schluter APP and the downloaded-able PDF with integrated navigational links (my personal choice). These two options will always be the fastest/earliest to access, and always up to date. In March, a limited/monitored number of physical copies (hard and spiral bound) will automatically be allocated and shipped to each distributor and Schluter Authorized Dealer (ASD). UPDATE: 2024 Price List/Price Increase Information

    The 2024 price lists are here!    Customer notification dates are listed below: February 28th           Distribution Partners March 6th                   Schluter Authorized Dealers March 13th                Dealers and all others   Prices in the new 2024 price books will take affect on April 1st.    Despite ongoing inflation and rising costs, we've limited the price increase to just 2.5% across all products, except DITRA (including DITRA-XL), KERDI waterproofing membrane, and both SCHIENE and JOLLY profiles and accessories in all finishes which will not increase in price.    There will be no changes to the freight program located in the back of the book.   I will update this post with the link to download the digital copies from Schluter's website as soon as they become available.
