Profile Radius Limitations
Testing for minimum radius values for profile configurations and relative finishes has been completed with the use of the RUMA profile bending tool. Testing revealed that all finishes are unpredictably susceptible to visible changes based on finish thickness/type, deformation of the profile, and unknown environmental conditions.
Reiterating a point made in the Price List, certain finishes, such as polished/chrome-plated and color-coated aluminum, require a relatively large bending radius in comparison to the standard anodized aluminum finishes. Installers may experience higher rates of failure with polished or color-coated finishes, and therefore, must use an increased level of care when bending the profile.
The tables below show the approximate radius tolerances for each profile configuration and relative finish type. Results may vary.
